Learn more about Taghia Tourism and our mission to share the beauty of this region.
Taghia Gorge offers 300+ established multi-pitch routes on solid brown limestone, with walls rising 500–800 meters. Expect well-bolted sport climbs on vertical faces with crimps and sharp edges. Most routes have bolt-secured belays and rappel stations for safe descents, and there are select opportunities for traditional climbing.
The area suits experienced climbers, with many classics graded around 6b+–7c+ (5.11–5.13). A solid 5.11+ level is recommended to fully enjoy the climbing. Development began in the 1990s—led largely by French and Spanish teams—and new lines continue to appear each year.
Accommodation in Taghia blends warm Berber hospitality with simple, traditional comfort. Guesthouses sit beneath the spectacular limestone walls of Taghia Gorge, with sweeping views of the 800-meter formations and the surrounding High Atlas Mountains.
